Exceptional Dental Care Since 1985
The Highest Standard of Quality Treatment
Early Cavity Detection
Advanced system identifies lesions, cracks and cavities that to the eye in some cases cannot be seen. Early detection means less invasive treatment and usually less cost.Oral Cancer Screening
This oral cancer screening device helps to detect early tissue changes which could be pre-cancerous. Oral Cancer is a very aggressive disease and the 5th leading cause of death in the USA. Early detection is vital to your health.Diode Laser
Laser dental therapy allows for higher precision, better healing and shorter recovery with dental procedures. From complex cases of smile design to treating oral lesions and non-surgical treatment of gum disease, the dental laser is the next generation in high quality, painless dental care.Digital Imaging & Restorations
Digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras, intra-oral scanners, and CAD/CAM in dentistry are revolutionizing the restorative and diagnostic experience for patients. Digital imaging helps reduce patient discomfort and the amount of visits necessary to complete treatment.
Early detection
Cavities detection and prevention
There is an old adage – “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Nowhere is this truer than in dentistry. By using the latest technology to detect problems earlier, we are able to help our patients preserve natural tooth structure, avoid unnecessary pain and discomfort, prevent more advanced problems from developing which usually saves both patients time and money. Some of the best advances in this early detection include...
Dr. Filler utilizes the Diagnodent Cavity Detection system.
This accurate, reliable tooth decay or cavities detection system is a revolutionary dental laser that finds cavities in their earliest stages. More and more patients place value on healthy and attractive teeth. In order to maintain them, the earliest possible care is essential.
Diagnodent aids in the detection of tooth decay or cavities. Even very small cavities are detected at the earliest stage, which allows Dr. Filler to protect and preserve your teeth allowing for less tooth structure to be repaired.
Our team is excited to offer our patients the high quality care that is offered by such technology as the Diagnodent Cavity Detection system.
Dr. Filler and her team are now using a system called Dexis CariVu™, a brilliant new approach in early cavity detection. This advanced system allows Dr. Filler and her team to detect cavities earlier, thus allowing for less of your natural tooth structure from being destroyed. The system identifies lesions, cracks and cavities that to the eye in some cases cannot be seen.
By hugging the tooth and bathing it in safe, near-infrared light, Dexis CariVu's™ transillumination technology makes the enamel appear transparent while porous lesions trap and absorb the light. This unique cavity detector allows Dr. Filler to see through the tooth exposing its structure and the actual structure of any cavities or problems with very high accuracy. When used together with an x-ray and an intra-oral photo, the cavity detection system provides a comprehensive picture of the health of your tooth.
If you are hesitant to have X-rays taken, Dexis CariVu™ is a great alternative diagnostic method.
Importance of Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer statistics are changing and unfortunately not for the better.
In 2016, there were approximately 48,000 new cases in the United States and worldwide over 450,000.
2018 statistics estimate that 103,000 new cases of oral cancer will be diagnosed annually in the US with only 50% survival rate for 5 years.* Oral & Head/Neck Cancer is the 5th leading cause of death in the US annually.
Early detection and treatment of cancer related lesions increases the survival rate of patients. At Dr. Filler’s office, we value and encourage regular oral cancer screening for all our patients. This is included as part of our regular periodic and initial examination fee and is meant to enhance your patient experience and peace of mind.

PART OF OUR REGULAR DENTAL EXAMINATION
Oral Cancer Screening
We utilize the ViziLite PRO Oral Lesion Screening System as part of our Oral Cancer Screening procedures. This screening device features light-based fluorescence, which helps to detect early tissue changes which could be pre-cancerous. Fluorescence designed visualization from this new device, provides information that is fundamentally different from what clinicians see when they look in the mouth with reflected standard white lighting.
Screening with the ViziLite Pro is easy and painless for our patients. Utilizing the ViziLite Pro allows our team to detect damaged or abnormal cells earlier than they would have been noticed using a normal clinical exam only.
If you have any questions about oral cancer, please speak with Dr. Filler or one of our Windham dental team members today.
Understanding the Diode Laser
Dental lasers have proven themselves highly beneficial in treating a variety of concerns. Lasers can be effectively used in cosmetic procedures such as to correct a “gummy” smile and give a longer, more natural look to your teeth. Additionally, dental lasers can help treat canker and cold sores and other oral lesions quickly and painlessly. Using the laser in the treatment of periodontal (gum) helps effectively kill the local bacteria involved in the periodontal infection and even can help stimulate new bone growth where bone has been lost due to the disease process. We actively use dental lasers because they are a highly effective and virtually pain free way to restore health to your mouth.

High Tech Instrument
Diode Laser
The laser is a new high tech instrument, usable for many procedures that previously required a referral to a specialist. Lasers are used from treating decayed teeth to complex cases of cosmetic and aesthetic smile designs, to non-surgical treatment of gum disease. Dr. Filler has incorporated the use of lasers in many phases of dentistry.
The best practice for diagnosis and treatment
Digital Imaging and Restorations
Our offices use digital imaging to diagnose as well as treat many dental conditions. Diagnostically, we use digital x-rays and intra-oral photos to help patients see what we see in their mouths. Restoratively, we use scanning software to replace a traditional dental impression with a digital image. Dental impressions earned a reputation of being uncomfortable for patients and dental scanners make all that disappear, as well as being highly accurate. Those scans can then be sent directly to a lab or used within our office to fabricate your restoration while you wait, eliminating repeat visits to the dentist for the same procedure. We use the premiere scanning and imaging softwares in our office to give our patients both convenience with optimal results.
Digital Radiography
Digital X-rays help in the diagnosis and treatment of many dental procedures. They illustrate bone height, bone defects, infection, root issues, tooth decay and more. Digital X-rays are also beneficial in determining if gum disease is progressing or arrested. A digital X-ray allows for quick on screen reference to facilitate your understanding of any areas of concern. As well, digital X-rays allow for minimal exposure time with 80% less radiation than normal X-rays. Digital X-rays are faster, safer and environmentally friendly.
Intra-Oral Camera
Our office utilizes an Intra-Oral Camera and Video System! The more you know about your mouth, the more able you are to make good choices for your dental care. We utilize this advanced technology to assist patients who want to be an active participant in their own dental care. Ask one of our team members for a complete tour of your mouth. Then, we'll immediately print a photograph of any area(s) you would like. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Intra-oral Scanning
Intra-oral scanning now can replace dental impressions to accurately image the entire dentition or just a specific area of the oral cavity. These images can then be used for treatment planning purposes – from dental aligners to smile design, or to fabricate dental appliances and restorations including indirect restorations and permanent crowns. This technology is significantly more comfortable for patients than trays of impression material and provides superior accuracy for both the dentist and laboratory technician.
CAD/CAM
In office, same-day milling takes a digital image from our intra-oral scanner and turns it into a final restoration while you wait in the office. This technology helps eliminate the need for several weeks with a temporary restoration while the permanent restoration is being fabricated in an outside laboratory. Our state-of-the-art milling unit fabricates precision, bonded restorations that are designed to provide increased longevity and optimal esthetics for all your restorative and cosmetic dental needs.
